Burnt Umber on Plaster

 

Painting in acrylic paint on naked gypsum plaster, Ben investigates human agency. What do the artist and the viewer bring to the artistic event?
Palate is limited to white, black, burnt umber and a little sienna. In places the paint is sanded back to introduce softer gradients to the bold brushwork.
